Forests cover nearly half of Florida’s land — about 17 million acres — fueling over 124,000 jobs and contributing more than $25 billion annually to our state’s economy. At the same time, they safeguard wildlife habitat and natural beauty that make Florida unique.
We’re delighted to invite you to experience this balance of prosperity and preservation firsthand during a farm tour at Wetland Preserve LLC — a beautiful 3,900-acre sustainably managed pine tree farm in Palatka, right beside the Rice Creek Conservation Area.
The Williams family stewards the land using conservation-compatible forestry practices, blending sustainable timber management with wildlife habitat enhancement — think longleaf pines, prescribed burns, and restoration efforts for pollinators, gopher tortoises, and more.
The property is permanently protected under a Florida Forever conservation easement, ensuring it remains a keystone in the Ocala-to-Osceola wildlife corridor.
Guests will enjoy a guided open-air buggy tour, offering an up-close look at wet flatwoods, creek swamps, and the diverse wildlife that thrive in this working forest ecosystem. Along the way, you’ll gain valuable insight into sustainable land stewardship, habitat restoration, and the broader role of forestry in Florida’s prosperity.
October 11th at 10:00 AM Please RSVP — seats on the open-air buggies are limited!
