Join the Jax Beaches Republican Women’s Club on Monday, October 20thas we welcome Charlotte Joyce, Chair of the Duval County School Board, for a conversation about education, leadership, parental involvement, and the future of our schools.
Charlotte brings a perspective that reaches far beyond the boardroom. A Jacksonville native and Duval County public-school graduate, she graduated magna cum laudefrom UNF with a degree in political science and has served as a homeschool mom, substitute teacher, classroom teacher, magnet coordinator, parent liaison, and school-board member. She is also the mother of five and has been a longtime advocate for school choice and meaningful parental involvement in education.
Elected to the School Board in 2018 and reelected in 2022, Charlotte has emphasized fiscal responsibility, transparency and parental rights, including spearheading the creation of an Audit Advisory Committee to strengthen citizen oversight of the district’s multibillion-dollar budget.
This should be a terrific conversation about what happens when parents, educators and citizens engage instead of sitting on the sidelines.
